Most people talk about fasting as a weight-loss tool. Insulin drops, stored energy becomes easier to access, appetite changes, scale moves. That part matters, obviously. But there is another angle that gets less attention because it is less dramatic and therefore less attractive to the wellness circus: fasting gives the digestive system a proper off-window.

If digestion feels heavy, erratic, or constantly “on,” the first experiment does not need to be extreme fasting. Start with the boring version that actually tells you something.
Pick a dinner time you can repeat. Finish eating two to three hours before bed. Cut the random evening snacks. Then keep breakfast at a consistent time for a week, rather than eating immediately just because the kitchen exists.
You are looking for simple signals: less heaviness at night, fewer reflux symptoms, better sleep, clearer morning appetite, and less need to graze through the day. If nothing improves, you learned something. If things improve, you also learned something.
